Stamped metal parts are typically produced by using progressive tooling or are deep drawn using transfer presses. Optimal processing for deep drawn, non-earring parts, requires material with very fine grains, which are equiaxed. This results in metal strip that has isotropic mechanical properties, which are both uniform at the uppermost portion of a deep drawn cup (non-earring) and without cracks along the shell walls.
